Our client’s modern rotary dairy is located in Rochester, Victoria.
The dairy is run by a family that has been farming in the Rochester area for 6 generations. They are consistently striving to improve their dairy operation with a focus on people development, animal welfare, quality, and occupational, health & safety.
You are required to work collaboratively with the team to manage all aspects of heard health and welfare, and undertake specified dairy production tasks and techniques, methods, and control procedures concerned with the operation of the dairy to the highest quality and standards.
You will work a 10-day fortnight and have every 2nd weekend off!
Tasks include but not limited to:
Milk harvesting duties and assisting with the milk harvesting schedule
Dairy hygiene and maintenance
Nutrition and feed associated tasks
Identifying health issues and treating cows
Safely operating and maintaining machinery
Adhering to company policies and SOPs
To meet the requirements of this role, you must have:
3+ years’ dairy farm hand experience
good communication, written, and interpersonal skills
a current and valid driver licence
an exceptional work ethic
qualifications in Agriculture advantageous
